CIPR Scotland meetups
I’m heading to Edinburgh and Glasgow next week to meet with CIPR members and guests. The sessions hosted by CIPR Scotland will focus on developments in public relations practice and the progress that we’ve made at the CIPR during my year as President.
Both sessions are free thanks to sponsorship from Precise, the media monitoring, analysis and evaluation firm but you’ll need to book via the Eventbrite links below.
The future of public relations
6.30 to 8pm – Thursday, 4 September The Corinthian Club, 191 Ingram Street, Glasgow G1 1DA
The business of public relations is facing unprecedented change. In this session and Q&A we’ll discuss ten key areas in which our business is modernising. Expect to be challenged during a fast paced discussion and Q&A that will ask you to think about your own professional development and future career.
#BrandVandals and Share This Too: Can an organisation be social?
8am to 9.30am – Friday 5 September 2014 Apex Waterloo Place Hotel, 23-27 Waterloo Place, Edinburgh EH1 3BH
As media fragments and organisations seek to engage with their publics, or audiences to use marketing parlance, via social forms of media results are mixed. In this session and Q&A we’ll explore the reasons why and draw on best practice from #BrandVandals, the book that I co-wrote with Steve Earl, and Share This Too by the CIPR Social Media Panel, and client work.
If you’re based in the border area I hope that you can make one of the sessions and look forward to meeting you. If not you can follow the conversation via Twitter using the hashtag #futurepr and @CIPR_Scotland.
