Dr David Weinberger will deliver the inaugural Sir Stephen Tallents lecture as part of the CIPR’s 70th anniversary celebrations in 2018. Weinberger has earned global notoriety as one of the co-authors of the Cluetrain Manifesto. The lecture takes place in London on 14 March, 2018.
Is a lack of investment in local media damaging society?
Sarah will explore the role of local media with leading journalists and a Member of Parliament on Wednesday evening in London. The panel will assess the extent to which resource-starved media organisations are equipped to serve society.
Ralf Little on public figures on social media
Sarah is set to interview Ralf Little on 30 January. He’ll discuss the social media minefield that comes with being a celebrity on Twitter and whether having more than 100,000 followers on Twitter means that he has a responsibility to voice his political opinions.
New #FuturePRoof project: the NHS at 70
A third edition of #FuturePRoof is in the works to celebrate communications excellence in the NHS. The NHS joins the CIPR in celebrating its 70th anniversary next year. Around half of the essays have been commissioned.
#CIPR70: crowdsourced book
I’m editing a book for the CIPR’s 70th anniversary in 2018. We received almost 100 pitches. My job for November is to review all the submissions and commission essays. The book will go into production in March for publication in the summer.
PRMoment skills debate
Public relations is moving so fast that it’s not possible for training to retain relevance. That’s the issue that Sarah will be debating with Mark Borkowski at PRMoment’s upcoming Why is there a talent crisis in public relations? Event on 30 November.

We’re heading to the Vuelio blog awards on Friday evening in London. My blog has been shortlisted in the PR, Media and Communications category, however our money is on Marcel Klebba to win. His blog was listed as a top ten UK PR blog, six months after it initially launched.
