CIPR new member offer: come and help build the future of the PR profession
Thanks to everyone for their kind messages of support following the announcement on Friday that CIPR members have voted me as President for 2014. My favourite message was from one of my daughters, conveyed via one of my favourite forms of media - cake.
Throughout the election several people recognised the progress that the CIPR has made in modernising its offer and were considering joining, or re-joining as I did in 2009.
If that’s you the CIPR has agreed to waive the £50 joining fee until 14 June meaning that you just pay the annual subscription cost depending on your grade. Please quote the code @wadds.
There are lots of reasons why you should consider joining the CIPR if you aren’t a member but for me professional development supported by a Code of Conduct is critical to building the reputation of the public relations profession.
I can show a direct and ongoing correlation between my skills and my income throughout my career. There is no clearer value in education and training.
Undoubtedly we’ve work to do to communicate the benefit of hiring a CIPR member with skills backed up by a Code of Conduct. That’s one of my priorities.
We’ve also got the opportunity to take CIPR qualifications and the CPD system to a much wider audience. But we need your help.
Come and develop your own professional expertise and build the reputation of the profession. If you're not a member take a fresh look and consider signing-up. I can't promise cake.
